Pound Cake and Bacon

I was SO impressed with how they prepared the pound cake for the chocolate fountain last night, of course the presentation of all of the dipping items looks fabulous. At another recent event, they prepared thick cut bacon for dipping in the dark Belgian chocolate. I tried it and it was quite good. The wedding guests LOVED it. The bacon disappeared faster than the strawberries! People were coming back asking for the bacon. I would have never imagined it, but it certainly was a hit.

Chocolate Fountains Are Getting Lots of Attention

I have noticed the phone has been ringing quite often lately with inquiries about renting chocolate fountains for all kinds of events here in the Atlanta, GA area. I get more requests than I can handle for some dates. Anyway, I thought it was an interesting observation because you hear all these people and the media complaining about the economy, but if you sell chocolate you might be doing okay.

I Found Out Why You Don't Use a Chocolate Fountain Outdoors!

I knew you weren't supposed to use a chocolate fountain outdoors. There are several things that just don't mix with a chocolate fountain.

Bugs
Temperature
Wind
Rain

You probably already get the point right? Well I had a client hire me without specifically telling me I was supposed to set it up outdoors. I thought for sure I would be inside. I got there and they took me all through the building to then take me outside and show me the table. I stopped just inside the door and asked them if they were sure. When I explained to them why we don't use it outside, they insisted. Honestly I wanted to give them their money back and pack it all back up and leave, but they still insisted....

So even though I didn't want to do it, I gave in and set up outdoors. I got the chocolate melted, then I turned on the fountain. I wasn't sure how much wind was too much. Before I even got it running, the smallest little gust of wind came along and took the chocolate across the white table cloth and onto the bricks below and later I found out it even made it to the dipping items on the table too. I quickly jumped out of the way so I wouldn't be covered in chocolate all night long.

Because it was already getting cold out, I quickly cleaned off the tier set and got it put away before everyone came out for the dessert hour and live entertainment. I did explain to them the chocolate in the basin would stay melted and most of the issues we had to worry about were out of the way except for the rain that came later and then it was time for me to leave.

Trust me, I will never allow that to happen again. A lesson well learned. Now ALL clients no matter who they are, will be filling out my form and agreeing to the terms and conditions. Once they read it, I would hope they realize that those provisions are there for a reason.

Ari's Bar Mitzvah Chocolate Fountain

Ari had a few wishes for his bar mitzvah and one of them was to have a chocolate fountain. I was proud to help make that wish come true. I think his friends and family were also very glad he decided to have a chocolate fountain for his bar mitzvah too.

Willy Wonka Party

Theme parties are the rage this year and this school had fun with their theme for their prom…….Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory……you know the old story has been revived with the new movie that recently came out.

They recreated the chocolate river and candy land….and to top it off they planned to have their own flowing river of real chocolate…….well at least the equivalent to it……a double dose of our chocolate fountain brimming with real melted Belgian chocolate.

They opted for milk chocolate in the large fountain and white chocolate in the medium fountain. The organizer for the party commented that out of all the years she has helped with the prom, this was the most she has ever seen anyone eat from any of “buffets”.

Another chaperone commented that this was the third prom she has been to this year and that our chocolate was the best she has tasted from the fountains that were at all of the proms.

There also was chocolate on every table as decorations, Wonka bars galore scattered about and very cute centerpieces that were all covered in mini candy bars. Too cute!

We have another prom coming up in a few weeks that is also using our Atlanta-based DJ service in addition to our chocolate fountain….so there will be more to follow.

Super Sweet 16 Party

Talk about Sweet 16…..this is just about as sweet as it gets. This beautiful birthday girl planned a party for over 200 guests and treated them to a chocolate fountain overflowing with Callebaut Belgian milk chocolate for her Sweet Sixteen birthday party in Thomaston, Georgia.

Young and old enjoyed the chocolate fountain. I think the youngest was about 2 years old.

The fountain was a big hit and some of the kids were really sad to see me cleaning up to go. There was plenty of spicy food, so many cooled their palates while enjoying the chocolate fountain.

So even though it was a very rainy Saturday, this Sweet 16 Party made everyone forget about the bad weather outside as family and friends gathered to celebrate and rejoice for this special event.

Atlanta Chocolate Company - Chocolate Fountains on the move

Atlanta Chocolate Company has been making the rounds around the Atlanta, GA area with their chocolate fountains. Just in the past week, we have served over 1,100 guests with our delicious Belgian chocolate filled fondue fountains.

The new bigger fountain that holds 20 lbs of chocolate debuted at Jezebel Magazine’s Pre-Valentine’s Day Party at Strip, a new restaurant in Atlantic Station in midtown Atlanta, GA on February 9th. We also had another chocolate fountain upstairs in the VIP section. Over 800 guests showed up to support this charity fundraiser as well as indulge in all kinds of delicious treats. The chocolate fountains were a big hit with this crowd.

We also served guests at corporate events this week at Coca Cola and HUD, what a perfect way to treat your co-workers to a quick midday distraction from the monotony of every day work!

And yet another party is on the way this Saturday evening at another restaurant in Atlanta for a birthday party…

So as you can probably tell there is no indication that things will slow down with our chocolate fountains. It continues to be fun watching people enjoy our chocolate fountains and this week my husband, Tony, got a quick glimpse of what it is like to see firsthand how people react to the fountains while he helped me out with a few of these events this past week. I think he now has a better idea of why I decided this really would be fun….I think he really had fun too and he was quite the “host” with his fun serving skills.

Bigger is Better! Size does matter.........

Whoever said size doesn't matter, was not talking about chocolate fountains. The other night I had over 200 people charging at my normally more than ample sized chocolate fountain with skewers of fruit "kabobs". I discovered that enough people rushing towards a chocolate fountain can make a chocolate fountain attendant stressed out if they can't keep up with the consumption of chocolate.

Most of the people had never actually seen a chocolate fountain before, so they didn't know what it looked like before they ate more chocolate than I could melt to replace it.

The interesting part is that we had just been discussing whether or not to get a larger fountain and then this particular event took place with the amount of people that were there and my mind was made up about halfway through the event. So now another larger chocolate fountain is on the way to add to my collection of chocolate fountains.

Another event is coming up soon where they are expecting close to 800 people.......so I think I will be more prepared for all the chocoholics that will be lingering around the chocolate fountains at that party. I will most definitely provide updates on how that turns out.

A Super Sweet Wedding

It doesn't get any sweeter than this! We've all been to weddings and normally a meal or heavy hors d'oeuvres are served. This couple opted for an "All Dessert" Wedding Reception. Your normal chocolate fountain dipping items were presented in their normal arrangement around the chocolate fountain......then the next table was stretched with all kinds of additional sweets that were also intended for the chocolate fountain accompanied by Starbuck's Coffee. Just when the guests thought they were on chocolate, caffeine and sugar overload, the wedding cake rolled out to be cut and was served with ice cream. The only thing on the "menu" that wasn't sweet was the pretzel rods, most of which were dipped in luscious dark Belgian Callebaut chocolate as was most everything else. I hope their marriage is just as sweet!

No Mess No Fuss Chocolate Fountain

I feel obligated to share this because their have been potential chocolate fountain bookings that didn't get booked because of a major misconception that all chocolate fountains are messy. While it is true that having a chocolate fountain could be messy if unattended or used improperly, my main objective when attending to my chocolate fountains is to ensure that no one makes a mess of the surrounding area or of themselves.

One of the first things we ask of all of our clients is that they supply plenty of small plates and napkins for their guests. These two items are key in providing a tidy chocolate fountain presentation. As guests eagerly approach the chocolate fountain with a skewered strawberry or other dipping item, I grab a plate and put it right under their dipping item as it is being pulled from the fountain.

The guests appreciate the extra attention and they love the fact that we virtually eliminate the chances of them dripping melted chocolate on their nice clothes as well as all over the venue.

When it comes to some items, guests are not afraid to ask for help. Some items cannot be pierced with a skewer or toothpick.....so then they wonder, how do I dip this in the chocolate fountain? We have a solution for everything.

Some venues have been concerned about the mess too, so we have taken the time to find solutions for protecting fine linens and flooring. If there is a concern, I am most certain, we have a solution to make a chocolate fountain do-able for any event or party. Even the most concerned venues have been more than pleased when they see how we do our set-up.

So no matter what the age is of your party guests, you can now party with no mess and no fuss and still have that chocolate fountain.....at least if you have the Atlanta Chocolate Company provide your chocolate fountain.

Chocolate Fountains & Fund Raising

One clever mom in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA organized a fund raiser for her son's ball team for a trip that they are going on. A silent auction was held to raise funds for their team. All kinds of sports memorabilia was auctioned as well as all kinds of merchandise and gift baskets. All kinds of food was served.

She wanted to do something that was really unique that a lot of people may not have experienced before and that is where we came into the picure. She decided to also include a chocolate fountain filled with Belgian milk chocolate.

One of the great things about a chocolate fountain is that not only is it a decadent dessert idea, but it is also a form of entertainment as guests 'ooh' and 'awe' over it. A few will have seen one somewhere else, some will look at and and wonder what it is since they have never seen one before...and they curiously come to find out.

Since we stay right there with our chocolate fountains, we are on hand to ensure that guests know how to use the fountain properly. There really is a right way and a wrong way to dip your treats into the fountain, so a quick lesson is given to those who need assistance.

Presentation is also another aspect of the chocolate fountain display. Arranged nicely, a chocolate fountain can also become a work of art and used sort of like a "centerpiece" to enhance your buffet. You can get as fancy as you want or keep it simple. All you have to really do is figure out what you think would taste good dipped in ooey gooey melted chocolate and you have an instant hit on your hands with your party guests.

Milk Chocolate Wedding

Many couples have a chocolate groom's cake in addition to their traditional wedding cake, however some couples even opt to add a chocolate fountain to make their wedding day even sweeter. For this particular occasion, Belgian milk chocolate was chosen to flow over the tiers of this couple's chocolate fountain for their wedding reception.

The wedding guests flocked to the chocolate fountain as soon as they entered the room. I was bombarded with eager chocolate fountain "newbies". For many it was their first time to ever see a chocolate fountain. The children loved it and if you know kids and chocolate, they were eager to return and dip more goodies into the warm melted milk chocolate. I would have to say the marshmallows were the biggest hit of all as well as the strawberries.

As the wedding guests approached the chocolate fountain, I assisted them as needed with simple instructions on how to properly dip their treats into the chocolate and how to avoid wearing the chocolate for the rest of the day. As you can imagine, if someone is dressed up in their nicest clothes, they don't want to be covered in melted chocolate. Of course I also wanted to eliminate any unecessary messes on the carpet of the venue as well.....since I want to be welcome back in the future.

Speaking of the venue...it was also a first for them. They had never had a chocolate fountain at their facility before, which I was actually quite surprised by since they do lots of weddings there. I think after their experience with our chocolate fountain, they will be happy to have us come back again. Even the staff at the facility was very much wishing they were wedding guests so they could sample the chocolate fountain too. I made sure they all got a sample before the day was over because I thought it would be too cruel to let them look at it all afternoon and not get to at least taste how good our chocolate is.

It was a fun day and I considered it an honor to be able to provide this fun and fabulous service to someone on one of the most important days in their lives. I am looking forward to many more weddings to come.

Halloween Double Chocolate Fountain Party

Tonight was fun....a night of Halloween costumes, music, dancing, munchies, and a dark chocolate and white chocolate fountain at a local Atlanta Halloween Party. Since we had two fountains running, I created some very special treats for the hosts to save for their children who couldn't stay for this all adult party. Surely they will be happy to know they didn't miss out of all of the goodies.

Well, it has been a long day.......so this is going to be short, but thought this was a fun photo to share. Tomorrow is a wedding..........and I am sure I will get at least one great photo to add from the wedding too......

Time for me to go have chocolate dreams now...

Chocolate Blessings

Let's see where did we leave off last time? I now have 3 chocolate fountains, so now I can do an event with all three types of Belgian chocolate at the same event or party. This is the "Triple Chocolate Fountain Experience". One of each kind of imported Belgian chocolate - Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate, for those who just can't decide, or they are just plain chocoholics or have a bunch of friends and relatives who are.

I already have one party booked that is going to have two chocolate fountains because they like the idea of offering more than one type of chocolate for their guests, if the party was bigger, they might have gone for three because I could tell she really wanted to please everyone, yet another reason to book all three chocolate fountains.

We are already getting bookings for next year and are quite busy through the rest of this year. We are already looking for additional seasonal help to get us through the holidays. Everyone wants to have a party on December 3rd and we are so busy, we can't think about doing any more work unless we can find reliable, professional help with our businesses. This is a good thing!

The Chocolate Fountain is a Hit!

Tonight we finally got a big enough group together to try out the chocolate fountain. I filled it up and everyone was standing there drooling waiting for it to be ready. I was quite surprised how much chocolate we used up, but we were all trying different things and being creative. I know I had more than my share, but I had to try everything that everyone brought to dip in the chocolate. We tried the dark Belgian chocolate tonight and it was absolutely incredible! And believe it or not, I resisted the urge to start dipping right away so I could snap a few pictures first. Before I took it apart and cleaned it, we got even more creative trying to use up some of the chocolate. I thought of some more items I absolutely have to try next time. And of course we still have to try the milk chocolate and the white chocolate!

I also learned in the last day or so that they say that dark chocolate is good for you. It contains lots of anti-oxidants and is good for you. A quote from whatscookingamerica.net, "Eating 2 ounces (50 grams) a day of plain chocolate with a minimum content of 70% chocolate solids can be beneficial to health, providing protection against heart disease, high blood pressure, and many other health hazards as well as essential trace elements and nutrients such as iron, calcium and potassium, and vitamins A. B1, C, D, and E and it's a lot tastier than boring old vitamin pills too. A 1 1/2-ounce square of chocolate may have as many cancer-fighting antioxidants as a five-ounce glass of red wine."

Additionally, I contacted an owner of a company that does over $1 million dollars in sales a year about marketing our custom chocolates and they are interested in selling the finished product to their customers.

Custom Chocolates

Some new excitement came today as I discussed ideas with the custom chocolate mold guy. We had exchanged very brief emails, but today he actually called and I think it was mainly because he took a peek at the web site I am building for the Atlanta Chocolate Company. One of my wishes came true today. I wanted to have Atlanta Chocolate Company Chocolate Bars (custom molds) for samples, promos, etc. and he must have thought that was a great idea because we discussed designing the graphic for the bars and I found out that I can work creatively to design bars for people. So that is very exciting. I started thinking of all the different things we could do with this.

The chocolate fountain is here, but I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet because I have to fill it with lots of chocolate to make it run......so I need a decently sized group of people to do that...so I will have to wait a little bit longer to test it out.

Hi,

My name is Sheri.......and I have a new fascination with Chocolate Fondue Fountains........so much of a fascination that I have decided to do a little add-on business or service if you will to my husband's already existing DJ business here in the Atlanta, GA area.

I thought my fountain was going to be delivered today..........but FedEx didn't bring it today.....so we will have to wait and see when it gets here. So I impatiently wait for arrival of the chocolate fountain.

I can't wait until I get to see the fun that people have using the fountain and dipping all kinds of yummy goodies into the melted chocolate. I have a feeling I will enjoy watching them as much as they will enjoy eating their fondue creations.
